With Memorial Day weekend arriving, the AAA says people traveling over the three days is expected to be more than 40 million.
Despite the high airfare prices, people are still choosing to fly for the holiday weekend. Among the commercial airlines, United is predicting this weekend will be its busiest in more than a decade. Delta says it expects a 17% increase in passengers from last year.
Car travel is still expected to be down slightly from pre-pandemic levels as gas prices are higher than 2019 numbers.
The AAA says if people are driving, they should try to avoid being on the road between 3-6 p.m.
