Police say a 40-year-old man is in critical condition after two people attacked him with a sharp object Tuesday afternoon in Morrisania.
Detectives say it happened at 1149 Boston Rd. just before 2:30 p.m.
Exclusive surveillance video shared with News 12 shows the victim and his attackers arguing before one of the suspects begins to fight with the man. As punches are being thrown, the suspect in the altercation pulls out a sharp object from his pocket and begins to swing it at the victim.
That's when police say the second suspect stepped in to hold the victim, as the other stabbed and slashed the man multiple times throughout his body.
As the attackers walk away, the victim is seen taking off his shirt and wrapping it around his neck using it as a bandage to stop the blood spilling out. He remains standing for a few minutes before collapsing on the floor waiting for help.
The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he was listed in critical condition as of Tuesday night.
Investigators shared images of the two suspects on Wednesday, hoping it'll lead to some information on their whereabouts. The suspects appear to be one man and one woman, both wearing all black. Police say they ran away from the crime scene in an unknown direction.
