Six Flags Great Adventure welcomes adorable baby animals, including a giraffe, bear cub, and zebras

Summer is officially bringing a wave of new life to Six Flags Great Adventure, as park staff celebrate a major “baby boom” inside the Wild Safari.
Visitors now have more opportunities to see the new arrivals and experience the park after dark. The destination is also extending its operating hours on select summer dates.
The safari—recognized as one of the largest outside of Africa—has welcomed several adorable new additions over the last few weeks:
Mina the giraffe: Born on May 26, this female giraffe calf was welcomed by her mother, Taka, and father, Tusk. She is one of two giraffe calves born this season, with a second healthy calf expected to be named in the coming weeks.
Artemis the bear cub: A new black bear cub has officially joined the safari family.
Zebra foals: The safari has also welcomed several new zebra foals to the regional herd.
“From the birth of Mina and several other animal babies in Wild Safari to additional opportunities to enjoy the park after dark, this summer is filled with new experiences for our guests,” said Ryan Eldredge, director of sales and marketing at Six Flags Great Adventure.
In tandem with the animal announcement, Six Flags Great Adventure is extending park hours on select dates throughout the summer season.
The additional evening hours are designed to let families experience the park’s world-class coaster lineup from a completely different perspective. Thrill-seekers will be able to ride iconic coasters like Nitro, El Toro, and the Jersey Devil Coaster under the night sky, alongside enjoying nighttime dining and entertainment.
Because extended hours apply only to select dates, park officials encourage guests to check the official Six Flags website for the most up-to-date operating calendar and event schedule before planning their trip.
