A normally quiet, little street on Long Island was forever changed on March 3, 1989.

What began as a routine day for the Tinyes family ended in a discovery so gruesome that it haunted the community for decades.

This week's Crime Files tells the story of 13-year-old Kelly Ann Tinyes and the nightmare that unfolded five doors down from her childhood home.

Just over a year after Tinyes was killed, her 22-year old neighbor, Robert Golub, was convicted of her murder. Golub received the maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison.
