Red Hook residents say they are frustrated because the local Olympic-sized pool remains closed this summer.

Sources say crews discovered a significant rupture in the water line as the pool was being filled with water for the summer season.

The issue happened despite previous visual inspections.

Crews were seen inside the pool Friday, as the Parks Department said it is making necessary repairs to reopen the pool by mid-August.

The Red Hook Pool and Recreation Center is slated for a major $122 million renovation project which is set to begin in 2028.
