From “Fast & Furious” to “Springsteen on Broadway” – the entertainment industry is making a comeback with big weekend milestones.
New Jersey music icon Bruce Springsteen reopened Broadway on Saturday with his show “Springsteen On Broadway. The acclaimed, autobiographical show is the first full capacity performance in a Broadway theater since March 2020 when the pandemic led to an unprecedented shutdown.
The evening of songs and stories about Springsteen's life was not the only sign that the public's willingness to gather for entertainment is coming back. The latest “Fast & Furious” film “F9” broke pandemic box office records its opening weekend, making $70 million for its opening weekend.
It was by far the highest-grossing theatrical release since the pandemic, which threatened to destroy the movie business.
"Springsteen On Broadway" will lead the New York theatre comeback with its 30 scheduled performances this summer. Broadway plays and musicals are set to return as early as August. Most in September and later.
