Most of New Jersey was under sunny skies Monday afternoon, but storms moving in from the west threatened northern parts of the state.
News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Michele Powers says there are some severe storms out in Pennsylvania that are expected to bring rain to New Jersey during the overnight hours.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for the northwestern part of the state, but that has since been canceled. A severe thunderstorm watch was also issued for a time.
Tuesday is expected to stay mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers throughout the day. High temperatures should be around 80 degrees.
The skies are expected to clear for Wednesday with mostly sunny skies with high temperatures in the mid-80s.
