6 injured, 2 airlifted after car crashes into Meg’s Grill in Lavallette

Six people were injured, including one with life-threatening injuries, after a driver accidentally accelerated and crashed into a restaurant in Ocean County on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to Meg’s Grill, located along Route 35 in Lavallette, following reports of a vehicle crashing into the building.

According to Lavallette Mayor, the driver mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to surge into the establishment.

Six individuals were injured in the crash. One person suffered life-threatening injuries, and two people were airlifted via medevac helicopters to regional trauma centers for urgent medical care.

Route 35 in the area of Meg’s Grill experienced delays as first responders, local police, and medical teams worked at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved or the condition of the driver as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
