Hundreds of Walmart workers in Salem County are being asked to find jobs within 90 days at other store locations.
Walmart says it can't afford to staff so many workers with a drop in evening and weekend shifts. The Pedricktown location has 200 workers on staff. Employees are eligible for positions at 5,000 chain stores nationwide.
“We recently adjusted staffing levels to better prepare for the future needs of customers,” a spokesperson for Walmart said in a statement.
Walmart employees in Pennsylvania, Texas, California and Florida are also affected.
