Repairs to a water main in Hoboken are expected to be complete by Wednesday, according to the water company.
The main burst Monday afternoon, causing flooding and the closure of Observer Highway from Madison to Adams Street. Jefferson Street was also closed south of First Street.
Hoboken officials have been supplying cases of battle water to the residents of one of the apartment buildings impacted by the water outage.
But Mayor Ravi Bhalla says that the water is safe to drink and no boil water advisory is in effect.
