A tree fell onto a home in Tenafly Saturday morning, causing a fire and a large emergency response.
Tenafly police say they received a call about the incident on Jefferson Avenue around 8:52 a.m.
Upon arrival, all residents had exited the home. Assistant Fire Chief Mark Fredrick said there were no injuries.
According to Fredrick, there were “heavy fire conditions” in the rear of the home and crews were forced to pull back due to the risk of collapse.
He says it was contained and mostly knocked down within 45 minutes. The home was left with extensive damage.
Officials say a neighboring home on Gordon Avenue was also damaged by the fallen tree.
The Tenafly Fire Department was assisted by crews from Englewood, Demarest, Dumont, Cresskill, Box 54 and Bergenfield.
