World's largest fleet of tall ships anchored off Sandy Hook ahead of Saturday's Parade of Sail

It is a sight to see at the Jersey Shore ahead of Saturday's Parade of Sail as part of the nation's 250th birthday celebration.

Today, these ships are providing a stunning backdrop off Sandy Hook Bay.

There are towering masts, colorful flags and historic ships from around the world anchored just offshore for people to see through binoculars and take photos.

Gov. Sherrill will welcome the captains of the Tall Ships.

On Saturday, the ships will leave their anchorage and head into New York Harbor for the Parade of Sail.

Sail4th 250 is nearly 50 Tall Ships along with dozens of naval vessels passing under the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, gliding past the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson River.

Millions are expected to watch, making this one of the biggest events of America's 250th birthday celebration.
