Students at Glen Rock High School received a hands-on lesson about distracted driving.
On Thursday, the school had a driving simulator that showed what it is like to drive under the influence or distracted by texting. Students had to navigate a driving course and obey all traffic laws.
Several students say they were surprised by what it is like to drive distracted.
"I gained a lot of perspective. I never knew what it would be like," says student Ariel Shilitz. "I know not to drink and drive, but this was a wake-up call."
After the simulator, the teens received a report about their driving that included violations such as speeding, causing an accident or even vehicular manslaughter.
