A vehicle fire broke out in Byram Township early Sunday morning, sending flames into the air near the intersection of Roseville Road and Amity Road.

First responders arrived shortly after 12:30 a.m. and found a single vehicle that had been in an accident and left in a wooded area, fully engulfed in flames. The crash involved a utility pole, bringing electrical wires down across Roseville Road.

The driver was able to escape before emergency crews arrived and was not injured.

Because live wires were down, JCP&L was called in to secure the electrical lines. Once the power was shut off, crews successfully extinguished the fire.

Units cleared the scene at approximately 3 a.m. The road has since been cleared and reopened to traffic.
