A block party hosted by Black Panther leader and city council candidate Divine Allah became a crime scene Sunday after a teenager was killed in a drive-by shooting.

Allah's event was being held at Roselle Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard and had promised food, fun and "edutainment." Authorities say a shooter fired an automatic weapon at the gathering. Tamrah Leonard, 13, was hit and killed by the gunfire.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related and say it may have been spurred by an incident at a local club Saturday night.

"They just did a random drive-by," says Trenton Police Director Irving Bradley. "Indiscriminately. They didn't care who they shot."

A confidential tip line has been set up by Trenton police and a $1,000 reward is being offered for information on the shooting. Police are also using surveillance footage to try and learn more about the shooting. So far, they've only been able to ascertain that two cars, colored silver and green, were involved in the shooting.
