Police in Tarrytown arrested a 34-year-old man for ripping a banner that was put up to support police.
The banner was placed on South Broadway as part of National Police Week and said in part, "We the people appreciate the Tarrytown police."
Police charged Jonathan Mejia, of Tarrytown, with criminal mischief. Mejia was given an appearance ticket for a future court date.
