An SUV ended up inside an Englewood building after crashing into its façade Thursday afternoon.
Employees who work in nearby businesses said they heard a loud noise and thought a major disaster had happened like an earthquake.
It was around 4 p.m. when the vehicle somehow crashed into the building on Grand Avenue, breaking through its doors and stopping inside the office, facing backwards.
It was unclear how the Ford SUV rolled down the street and crashed into the building.
Witnesses told News 12 New Jersey that the vehicle came down from Chester Place, which is a steep hill. They also said that there was no one inside the SUV once it slammed into the building.
Witnesses said there was an injured man injured lying on the ground and he was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
His condition was unknown as of Thursday night and it was not clear if he was driving the vehicle.
There is a gym on the second floor of the building and a business on the first floor called ESU, a company that imports fruits. Logistics and sales are operated in that location.
There are usually about 20 employees in the office but one of the employees said that some of them had left earlier in the day.
No one inside the building was hurt.
