Study: New Jersey ranks among safest states in the country
Despite being the most densely populated state in the country, one study says New Jersey is also one of the safest.
The National Council for Home Safety and Security reports that New Jersey is the third safest state for property crime.
Researchers also say the state’s violent crime rate is less than half the national average.
The study identified the top five safest areas in New Jersey as River Vale Township, Warren Township, Washington Township in Morris County, Ringwood and Tenafly, respectively.
