Strong winds from Tuesday’s storm left damage in some parts of New Jersey, including Franklin Lakes, where downed trees, including trees splintered in half, and downed power lines are all over the neighborhood.
“I thought it was fine, then I realized it was not fine really,” says Austin Billis.

Keith Billis and his sons, Austin and Colton, were having dinner when the storm hit. It came and went in just a matter of minutes, but definitely left its mark.

“All that damage over there and there all across our town, I realized this may not be an ordinary rainstorm,” says Colton.
Mayor Frank Bivona said Tuesday, "Undoubtedly there will be outages and repairs to deal with tomorrow as well. The good news is that we did not have any injuries to residents or emergency personnel. Thank you for your patience, this was another tough storm."

Plenty of damage was left behind, and there are still outages. Billis and his sons still do not have power and are running off a generator, but they are not upset – happy with their town’s response.
“As soon as we got here like 20 minutes, I would say the electric company was on the street and the fire department and police here as well,” says Keith.

Franklin Lakes is serviced by Orange & Rockland.
