Health officials in Middletown say that a cluster of COVID-19 infections is linked to a house party on July 11.
Officials say that the party took place on West Front Street and that 20 teenagers contracted the virus.
Contract tracing is now underway to narrow down the extent of the cluster. Officials are asking parents to get their children to self-quarantine for 14 days if they attended the party. Those infected range from 15 to 19 years old.
State officials have previously stated that all New Jerseyans should refrain from gathering in large groups, particularly indoors and when not with members of their immediate family or household because of an increased chance of contracting the virus.
Editor's Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated the town as Middlesex.
