Prosecutor: Authorities make arrest in deadly shooting at housing complex

A 22-year-old man is facing charges for the deadly shooting and robbery at an Elizabeth housing complex.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office says that Ronald Santiago is facing several charges including robbery and murder in connection with the killing of 27-year-old Alphonso James at the Mravlag Manor housing complex.
Officials say that Elizabeth police were called to the complex around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a shooting. They found James injured with gunshot wounds. He died about a half-hour later.
Police say that they identified Santiago as the suspect and he was arrested several hours after the shooting. He is expected to appear in court later this week, according to the prosecutor.
