ALERTS: A winter storm warning has been issued for northern Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, Putnam, Ulster counties. A winter weather advisory is in effect for southern Westchester.
The second storm of the week will be arriving this weekend, where it will bring about heavy and plowable snow. Saturday morning starts off with a mix of sun and clouds with clouds thickening up through the midday hours. Snow arrives toward and after sunset. Heavy snow will be following, roughly between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. The snow will be wrapping up through the sunrise timeframe and afterwards. There is a chance of a wintry mix to come down as the snow is wrapping up.
After this storm system moves, partly cloudy skies and breezy winds will move in Sunday afternoon. The snow will be lighter and easier to shovel and clear during the day. Afterwards, the temperatures will get colder, and the snow will become harder.
It will become more of a chore to shovel snow on Monday.
Next week, there will be a few more chances for winter storms to move in.
