With the onshore flow, despite temperatures being above average tonight, it will feel cooler and damper.
Areas of patchy fog will develop, lowering visibility, especially at the shore. Early morning commuters should allow extra time in the routine to deal with slowdowns. The low clouds will dissipate sometime after 8 a.m., and partly sunny conditions will carry us through the day.
Winds will stay off the ocean, which will impact how the temperature feels. Eastern New Jersey will be overcast and cooler, with temperatures in the upper-40s. The western half of the state will see hints of sun and milder temperatures in the mid- to upper-50s.
The weekend is overcast but dry. Even most of Sunday is rain-free until after dinnertime - that's when rain chances go up. A line of showers and storms will be moving through. I don't think these storms will become severe, but there could be grumbles of thunder and a few flashes of lightning, especially in far southern areas of the state.
Any rainfall will be beneficial. We are still dealing with a significant drought in the state.
