Police say a playground in South Brunswick was burned to the ground by vandals.
Police say it occurred at about 9 p.m. Saturday. They say it took firefighters several hours to put the flames completely out because of their height.
The playground, set behind Brunswick Acres Elementary School, was left a pile of twisted metal and melted plastic.
Police say they think they know who set the fire and are investigating further.
The parents-teacher organization that raised the money to build the playground says it hopes insurance covers the $80,000 worth of damage.
