A large fire in Newark on Thursday afternoon sent plumes of smoke into the air that could be seen for miles.
The fire was reported at 2:48 p.m. at 635 Delancy St., according to city officials.
Officials say the fire started outdoors and then spread to the building. All of the people inside the building were able to escape.
News 12 received photos showing the smoke visible 8 miles to the south, and as far east as Staten Island.
The fire was put under control around 4:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
