Silas, a 5-year-old Labrador retriever, is a "lovable goofball" looking for his "furever" home.
One of the first things people may notice about Silas is his calm, gentle manner and his desire to be close to his humans.
“He’s a big lovable goofball who just wants to be close to his people,” said Diane Ashton, director of communications for St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center.
A former foster, Silas arrived at St. Hubert’s after his owner developed a serious medical condition and could no longer care for him. Ashton said he’s great with kids. He also seems to do well with calm dogs and may prefer one-on-one playdates since he tends to get excited when he sees dogs on walks. Volunteers are also working on his leash manners. He does really well during car rides, too.
"Silas would thrive with a person or family who wants a low-key snuggle buddy," Ashton said. "He's a pure couch potato. He’d make a perfect companion for watching TV, reading a book, or just hanging out together."
