A 1.3 magnitude earthquake occurred near Whitehouse Station on Sunday night, the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed.

According to the USGS, the small quake struck around 9:04 p.m., about 5 kilometers northeast of Whitehouse Station in Hunterdon County, at a depth of 8.4 kilometers.

USGS data shows there have been a few small earthquakes so far this year, including a 1.5 magnitude quake near Califon on Feb. 13 and a 2.4 magnitude tremor 5 kilometers west-southwest of Bedminster on Jan. 30. There were at least two dozen small earthquakes in 2025, according to the USGS.
