The State Fair Meadowlands gets underway next Thursday, and there will be plenty of food – some usual and some unusual.

Of course, there’s hot dogs and burgers, as well as freshly made Greek, Italian and Mexican dishes.

But there's also some unusual food -- shark kabobs, gator kabobs, alligator bites and even alligator mac and cheese.

For all the bacon lovers out there – bacon wrapped meatballs, sausage, and corn dogs are on the menu.

If you have a sweet tooth, there are always funnel cakes, smoothies, and rolled ice cream.

The fair will be open on weeknights from 6 p.m. to 12 p.m., Fridays from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The fair runs through July 7.
