A passenger was detained by police after a disturbance aboard a Breeze Airways flight from Westchester County Airport to Florida, but authorities said the incident was not a security breach.
The nearly full flight departed Westchester shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and landed in Vero Beach just before 11 p.m.
After landing, the captain instructed passengers to remain seated and told them there had been a security issue during the flight.
Video recorded by passengers showed officers boarding the plane and removing a man from his seat.
However, the Vero Beach Police Department later said the incident was not considered a security breach.
Investigators determined the passenger took an item from the airline’s snack cart after being told he was not permitted to do so. The passenger later paid for the item, police said.
Officers detained and questioned the passenger after the plane landed, but no arrest was made.
Police said the passenger was issued a trespass warning from Vero Beach Regional Airport.
