An old nightclub in Seaside Heights made famous on the MTV show "Jersey Shore" was demolished Friday.
Demolition crews ripped apart the Bamboo Bar to make way for a future luxury condo project.
The owners of the bar filed for bankruptcy in 2019. The building sold at auction last year for $1.2 million.
"Once we demo the building, the next step will be to start construction on what will be a 48-unit, mixed-used project. So, we're going to put 48 high-end luxury condos with small retail space on the ground level," said Rudy Daunno, of Daunno Realty.
After the publicity the town received following the TV show, borough leaders promised to make Seaside Heights a more family-friendly destination.
