A near-death experience was recorded on the security camera of a customer who ordered from Anthony Franco's Pizza in Wayne last Monday ahead of record flash flooding.

The video shows a delivery driver just inches away from being struck by lightning while standing at the customer's door with a box of pizza.

After lightning strikes, the video shows the delivery driver, Jovanni Behun, saying, “I thought that was going to hit me.”

"I ended up leaving exactly at the time thunder hit, and then lightning followed right away. Then all of a sudden it was like a quick flash and a bang," he says.

When the video is slowed down, it shows just how close he was to the flashing bolt.

"It was a crazy situation, but I'm just blessed and lucky to even be here," said Behun. "I'm lucky to even be alive and be in this position to even have an interview right now so I'm just grateful for that."

Last Monday's storm caused record flash flooding across the Garden State, claimed the lives of several residents in Somerset County and left homes, cars and personal belongings destroyed.
