Monday morning earthquake shakes part of North Jersey

The United States Geological Survey says the quake was reported around 5:40 a.m. just west of Morris Plains.

The United States Geological Survey says the quake was reported around 5:40 a.m. just west of Morris Plains.

No damage or injuries were reported.

Officials say that most people don’t even feel an earthquake below a magnitude 3.

The earthquake that New Jersey experienced last April was a magnitude 4.8.
