Students, parents and supporters have reached their goal in a bid to keep a Catholic high school in Monmouth County from closing.
Mater Dei Prep announced in February it will close in June because of financial problems unless it can raise $1 million.
The Save the Seraphs campaign announced this week that they surpassed the goal and continue to raise funds. 
Suspended NBC News anchor Brian Williams attended a fundraiser this month and donated $50,000 toward the cause. Williams was a 1977 graduate of the school.
Organizers say they working to establish an endowment that would sustain the school into the future.
