The Lodi man accused of two firebombings at Bergen County synagogues in recent weeks has pleaded not guilty.
Anthony Graziano entered his plea through his attorney in court in Hackensack this morning. The 19-year-old is being charged with attempted murder, arson and bias intimidation.
Graziano's attorney says his office plans to have the trial moved from the county where the attacks took place. The attorney says there's been too much publicity about the attacks in Bergen County to get a fair trial. He also says he'll push to have the teen's $5 million bail lowered.
Authorities say Graziano was responsible for fires at synagogues in Paramus and Rutherford this month. They traced the materials in some of the bombs to a Walmart store and captured surveillance images of a man buying the materials who later was identified as Graziano.
A Molotov cocktail was thrown through a second-story window where a rabbi and his family live and started a fire in the Jan. 11 incident at a Rutherford synagogue.
