Power failure prompts hospital divert in Englewood

A power outage has prompted hospital officials to divert EMS crews from the emergency department at a hospital in Bergen County.
The outage, which occurred around 8 a.m., is causing some disruptions at Englewood Hospital.
"Portions of the Englewood Hospital campus have experienced power interruptions. The hospital remains operational, and we continue to provide safe patient care," Englewood Health told News 12 in a statement.
Hospital officials say the outage means some elective procedures may have to be rescheduled. The hospital will be reaching out to any patients whose appointments have to be rescheduled due to the power failure.
Until power is fully restored, a facility divert is in place for emergency medical crews transporting non-critical patients to the hospital. Walk-in patients in need of medical care will still be able to go to the emergency center, Englewood Health said.
A spokesperson for PSE&G said they have a crew on site and thy are looking into the problem.
