The U.S. Postmaster General is not backing down on his call to close over 3,000 post offices for cost cuts.
However, Bronx residents are continuing to fight to keep them open.
On Thursday, community members attended a hearing at the Hunts Point post office, which is in danger of closing.
Currently, there are 34 post offices in New York City on the proposed chopping block.
Seventeen of those are located in The Bronx.
Advocates say the Post Master is targeting poor neighborhoods and eliminating post offices like the one in Hunts Point would leave the community feeling helpless.
