A student at Ramapo College informed school officials that she's been diagnosed with the drug-resistant staph infection dubbed the superbug.
The student was diagnosed by her personal physician but the Bergen County Department of Health has not yet confirmed the case of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
Pam Bischoff, vice president of student affairs for Ramapo College, said the school has disinfected all equipment in the gym as a precaution. She said even though the infection is not easily transmitted, school officials wanted to err on the side of caution.
