Community members took to the streets in a sign of opposition to the latest outbreak of gun violence in Newark.
Demonstrators hoped to call attention to their plight by marching along the I-280 ramp into the city. Hours earlier, Mayor Cory Booker and other officials urged residents to mobilize and help police combat street violence.
A 14-year-old was killed by gunfire earlier this week. A 62-year-old and her 23-year-old granddaughter were also wounded by stray gunfire.
