For the first time in nearly 20 years, Kraft Mac & Cheese is expanding into a new food category with the launch of its upcoming Kraft Mac & Cheese Cheesy Ramen.
The new product will be available in spicy, chicken and pork varieties, joining a growing selection of ramen products on grocery store shelves as the dish continues to surge in popularity.
According to a press release from the brand, that growth is being driven in part by strong demand from Gen Z consumers and fast-growing formats such as cheesy ramen, a segment that has doubled over the past three years.
The concept builds on a trend of consumers adding cheese to ramen for a creamier texture and to help balance spicy flavors, prompting Kraft Mac & Cheese to create its own version.
"Consumers are increasingly looking for bold flavors and new ways to enjoy the foods they love, and we're seeing growing demand for cheesy ramen in the U.S.," said Nicolas Henault, vice president of marketing for Kraft Mac & Cheese. "As a brand that has been delivering cheesy comfort for nearly 90 years, we saw a natural opportunity to bring our cheese expertise to ramen and give consumers a uniquely Kraft Mac & Cheese take on a format they're already embracing."
The new Cheesy Ramen line will hit store shelves in early 2027. In the meantime, Kraft Mac & Cheese said it will share opportunities to sample the product early through its social media channels.
