A Keansburg man has been charged in a head-on crash in Linden that critically injured three members of a family, including a 3-month-old baby.
Darryl Petlock, 48, was charged with two counts of eluding, five counts of aggravated assault while eluding and three counts of assault by auto, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said Linden police were notified around 2:45 p.m. Monday of a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling at high speed on East Linden Avenue.

Police responded and saw the Jeep traveling at high speed into oncoming traffic while attempting to get around a pickup truck, according to the prosecutor’s office. The Jeep then collided head-on with a Honda Civic.
The Honda was carrying a 33-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man and a 3-month-old baby. All three were taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
Petlock was taken into custody and transported to a hospital. Authorities did not provide information about his condition.
