A man is facing charges for allegedly killing his 84-year-old mother-in-law.
The county prosecutor says that the Nutley Police Department took a 911 call Tuesday evening from 58-year-old James Pica. Pica allegedly told the dispatcher that he had killed his mother-in-law, identified as Barbara Ann Bezzone.
Authorities say that when officers arrived at the Prospect Street home, they found Bezzone lying on the floor unresponsive, with severe injuries. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
Pica was taken into custody and charged with her murder.
