Prosecutor: Branchburg teen died after being thrown from vehicle following crash
A 17-year-old boy has died after being involved in a crash in Somerset County.
The county prosecutor says that the single-vehicle crash happened on Oct. 8 in Branchburg.
Officials say that Vincent Gagliardi was a passenger in a 2006 Toyota Scion. The crash occurred on Fairview Drive. The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and it struck several roadside objects.
Gagliardi was thrown from the vehicle following the crash, according to the prosecutor. Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Gagliardi was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver and the rear seat passenger were treated at the scene and refused further medical treatment.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
