Pottery Barn is selling a platter in the shape of New York state, but it’s missing some pretty big sections.
Long Island and most of New York City have been eliminated.
The item is not for sale in stores, but the company has it on its
website for $49.
Long Islanders say they were confused and upset after seeing the porcelain dish without their home region on it.
"They shouldn't even try to sell it that way," one Long Islander says.
Terrance Saporito, co-owner of the Long Island Strong clothing brand, says Pottery Barn made an unforgivable error by keeping Nassau and Suffolk out.
"Maybe they didn't want to compete with us, maybe that's what it was," Saporito says. "Maybe they're going to leave Long Island merch and all that stuff to the professionals down here."
News 12 reached out to Pottery Barn for comment the company did not respond as of 10 p.m. Wednesday.
