Newark police are on the hunt for a woman suspected of dog-napping after she was caught on surveillance video taking a Shih-Tzu Poodle mix from its front yard on Norfolk Street.

The owner of the dog reported that she had let her pet out in the yard on Saturday when 44-year-old Hymifah Richardson allegedly snatched the animal and walked away.

Police have released the video footage and are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect.
