(AP) - A new poll finds Gov. Jon Corzine closingthe gap in the New Jersey governor's race. A Quinnipiac University poll out Wednesday has the incumbentDemocrat pulling to within 4 percentage points of Republicanchallenger Chris Christie. Christie was the choice of 43 percent of those polled, Corzine39 percent. The third candidate in the race, independent ChrisDaggett, pulled 12 percent. A Sept. 1 Quinnipiac poll had Christie up by 10 percentagepoints, and a July Quinnipiac poll had him leading by roughly thesame 10-point margin. Christie, a former federal prosecutor, is hoping to deny Corzinea second term. The telephone survey of 1,188 likely voters was taken Sept.23-28 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 2.8percentage points.
