Franklin Township police officers threw a birthday party for a young girl as a way of saying “thank you” for her act of kindness.
Third-grader Meghan Sankar turned 9 years old. This year, instead of asking for presents for her birthday, she asked for donations so that she could buy a bulletproof vest for the Franklin Township Police Department. She raised $300 – enough for police to purchase that vest.
To thank her, the department threw Meghan a birthday party complete with cake, ice cream and pizza.
Meghan was also presented with a community service award for her actions.
