Police say a man was being shot at while he was on the phone in East Meadow.
Nassau police say the incident happened around 11 p.m. Sunday.
They say police got a call for an incident involving a black Infiniti and a red Cadillac at Prospect Avenue and Second Street.
Then, police say a man called 911, and said he was getting shot at by two people in the Cadillac.
Police also say the man told them the Cadillac was at a 7-Eleven on 525 Newbridge Road in East Meadow.
One man in the neighborhood near that 7-Eleven told News 12 that he saw lots of police outside and inside the store Sunday night.
News 12 obtained court records that show police arrested Anthony Beltran, 33, of Bethpage, and John Messina, 45, of North Bellmore, at the 7-Eleven. Those court records also show that police found a loaded gun, two loose shells, switchblades on both men, multiple pills, including one's police believe are opioids and white powder police believe is cocaine.
News 12 also learned that police say they looked at surveillance video from 7- Eleven and identified Messina as the driver of the red Cadillac and Beltran as the passenger.
"It's terrible, terrible...kind of crazy, kind of scary all wrapped up into one." said Mike Sjoholm, a longtime East Meadow resident.
