A Burlington County school bus driver is facing charges after he allegedly viewed pornography while students were around.
New Jersey State Police say that they were alerted to the incident from staff members of the Indian Mills Elementary School in Shamong Township. The staff members told police that two children told their parents that their bus driver, identified as 64-year-old Franck Lafortune of Burlington Township, was watching pornography on his phone inside the parked school bus.
In a letter to parents, Superintendent Christine Vespe says that Lafortune worked for the Garden State Transport bus company. Vespe said that the driver was “immediately and permanently removed from our school district bus routes.”
Lafortune was charged with obscenity to minors under the age of 18 and released pending a court appearance.
