Authorities are investigating the death of a 21-year-old man on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison.

Officials say the man was not a student at the school, but was visiting a friend who is a student. He was found unresponsive by his friend after returning to his dorm room after class.

The victim was transported to Morristown Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"The untimely death of any young person is troubling. Although this matter remains under investigation, our preliminary assessment at the scene does not suggest foul play," said Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi.

The university has not yet commented on the death.
