Police in Keyport say a man is wanted for attacking an officer Friday morning.

Police say the man was trying to steal a catalytic converter off a car on Main Street. The suspect was able to get into a light gray or silver four-door sedan.

Authorities say the suspect struck the officer and dragged him while fleeing the scene. That officer is recovering.

Anyone with information is asked to call Keyport police.
